Joe Brosnan

Joe Brosnan
Joe is a retired Irish civil servant and has worked for most of his career in the Department of Justice, holding the position of Secretary General.
Joe has also worked for a number of years as a Chef de Cabinet in the European Commission in Brussels; dealing with Justice, Home Affairs, Employment and Social Policy. He was a member of the Independent Monitoring Commission in Northern Ireland and is a former Director General of the Institute of International and European Affairs.
Joe has acted as a consultant to the Law Society of Ireland on regulatory matters. He is a barrister and has received an honorary doctorate in law from NUI Maynooth.

Maureen King
Maureen has over 20 years experience in risk and compliance, holding senior positions of trust within the Telecommunications sector. A recognised expert on retention of, access to and disclosure of data to law enforcement agencies.
Maureen holds an Executive MBA from Dublin City University (Hons) and Certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School Online. She is an accredited assessor of Human Rights Principles with the Global Network Initiative (GNI). Maureen acts and leads with a strong social conscience, chairs the Board of HalfTimeTalk Charitable Movement, is a Director of the Board of ISPCC and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Anti-Bullying Centre in Dublin City University.

Peter Kirwan
Peter is a former member of the Garda Síochána (Irish police & security service), having retired in 2017 from the position of Detective Chief Superintendent in charge of the Security and Intelligence section, Garda Headquarters.
During his service he held key policing and security responsibilities, including oversight accountability for handling sensitive intelligence data and international liaison arrangements for intelligence exchanges. He had specific responsibility for authorising all requests from the Garda Síochána to Communications Service Providers (CSPs) for access to communications related data, under the provisions of the Communications (Retention of Data) Act 2011. In this respect he had direct engagement with the criminal courts (giving evidence), Oversight Judges and officials from the office of the Data Protection Commission.
Peter is an accredited assessor of Human Rights Principles with the Global Network Initiative (GNI). He holds a BA Degree in Management and Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law.

Pat Hogan
Pat is a former member of the Garda Síochána with over thirty years’ experience working with various international agencies both as Head of the National Bureau for Interpol and Europol. Pat was passionately involved in the development of operational strategies in the area of critical incident response, emergency management and training of senior management.
He was a representative at the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning and has delivered significant projects that championed protective security in the public and private sector. Pat’s experience has been complimented with the completion of an Executive MBA at the Smurfit Business School and a B.A. in Management at Limerick University. He is also an accredited assessor of Human Rights Principles with the Global Network Initiative.
Pat believes that the development of relationships through mutual respect while demonstrating professional competence and integrity is key to aiding the sustainability of an effective security function.

Chris O'Brien
Chris is a Transformational Leader with over 40 years’ experience in the Telecommunications sector; holding senior positions of significant responsibilities for twenty-five years.
Chris is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with a post graduate diploma in project management and an Executive Masters (MBA Hons) in Leadership. He is an accredited assessor of Human Rights Principles with the Global Network Initiative and holds an advanced Diploma in Data Protection. His expertise is in strategy and planning with particular emphasis on change management and business transformation. Chris thinks of himself as a facilitator of change, working with people and systems rather than directing change.
Chris has played key roles in the delivery of major efficiency programmes and most recently as Director of Operations delivered significant revenue growth with operational cost savings. Chris has strong commercial and business focus with the capability to bringing clarity in the alignment of business strategy with organisational maturity and performance.
