Communication Service Providers (CSP's) are obliged to comply with various legislative frameworks to assist in the prevention of serious crime, the safeguarding of the security of the State and the saving of human life.
The data retention legislation that Communication Service Providers are lawfully obligated to comply with is the Communications (Retention of Data) Act 2011.
Under this Act, the authorised CSP's must provide evidence in Court on their data management practices and are subject to oversight from a Designated Judge of the High Court, the holder of the office of Complaints Referee and the National Supervisory Authority.
A CSP's data management practices must ensure data privacy is at the heart of their organisations activities.
Through placing a focus on ethical behaviour in data management, the iTrust Ethics Capability Framework™ was designed to provide our clients with independent assurances of compliance benchmarked against best known practices.
iTrust Ethics also provide advisory services and IT security solutions specific to the Interception of Postal Packets and Telecommunications Messages (Regulations) Act 1993, Criminal Justice Mutual Assistance Act 2008 and Criminal Justice Act 2013.
